COVID-19 (Coronavirus) UPDATE

It’s been a very stressful week for all of our couples getting married in 2020, as well as trying to keep up with the Covid-19 health and travel regulations and requirements. Below are Macona’s latest updates in regards to the ban by the Ministry of Health of indoor events of over 100 people.

For the health and safety of our couples and our team members, Macona Images have taken the following steps, effective immediately:

  • All non-essential events will be postponed until the risk of Covid-19 passes, this includes all engagement, maternity and family portrait sessions.

  • All consultations with our couples will be done via Skype video call only

  • Wedding bookings will be restricted to regions within a 4 hour drive of the Wellington CBD

If your wedding has been affected by this ban - here are the options and contingencies available for you:

If you wish to proceed with your wedding

  • look at reducing your numbers for any portion of your wedding day which is indoors to less than 85 people - this allows you to have any vendors like catering, bar staff, entertainment and your photographers and videographers to be present.

  • cull any +1 guests or look at reducing down to immediate family and closest friends and family only

  • advise any guests who have travelled overseas to not attend if they are still in the 14 day self-isolation period

  • advise any guests who are sick to not attend

  • check with your venue - as they will be carrying all the risk and subsequent fines and penalties if they are caught hosting your event with more than 100 people

  • we are now offering livestream video options which can be added to your existing package

If you’re unable to proceed with your wedding due to Covid-19

  • we are happy to transfer your wedding booking to a new date within 18 months of your current booking, subject to availability. There will be no penalty or re-booking fees and all deposits paid will be transferred to your new booking.

  • when looking into new dates for late 2020 to early 2021 - try looking at rescheduling to a midweek date as this will increase the likelihood of your current vendors being available

  • let us know as soon as possible - the more time we have the better!

What things we have in place to shoot your wedding day

  • as per government guidelines regarding social distancing, interactions between our team members and guests will be kept to a minimum; we will be adopting a more journalistic approach to covering your wedding

  • as per government guidelines regarding social distancing we will not be taking any large full guest group photos

  • we advise limiting the number of formal group photos to parents and immediate family only

  • we will be limiting coverage to up to your first dance; we will not be documenting dance floor antics, again, at the advice of the current health guidelines

  • if we suspect a guest is sick or has travelled and not carried out the government's 14 day isolation period, we will leave at our own discretion - please advise guests not to attend if they fall into this category

  • as much as we love our couples, and as much as it pains us to say it, no hugs or handshakes will be given by our team during this time

These are exceptional times and although these actions are not ideal we will continue to remain dedicated to all of our clients and team members.

Everyone stay safe and if you have any questions feel free to contact us

Kind regards,

Tash, Colin & team
